Awards Program

The Foundation accepts nominations of individuals and/or organizations who have contributed unique improvements to the civil or criminal justice systems within the United States. Nominations are accepted year round from all 50 states and D.C. The deadline to submit nominations for the current year is the third Friday in May.

Annual award winners are chosen based solely on the blind nomination. The number of winners selected each year is based on a percentage of the nominations received. The award package includes: a Paul H. Chapman Medal, a check for $10,000, a framed certificate, and an expenses paid trip to the awards banquet in Atlanta, Georgia.

Please note that these are awards for successful accomplishments inclusive of innovative programs which have proven effective and can serve as models for others. Recipients are not required to render any further services as a condition of receiving an award. The Foundation does NOT provide grants for future projects, anticipated works, nor scholarships for desired aspirations.

Members of the Foundation and their relatives are not eligible for recognition. Also, previous award recipients are not eligible for consideration.

This awards program is open to all individuals, programs, and organizations within the United States.
